There’s Something Different About This Swimming Pool. You Might Not Realize It Til You Jump In…
Jeroen Bisscheroux is an artist that specializes in creating things that arent really there. … youll see what we mean. For instance, one of his most recent projects was a pool. You cant swim in it because it doesnt really exist. Its titled POOL, loss of color and its a flat art optical illusion. No matter how many times you look at it, its going to trick your eyes.
The deteriorating swimming pool wasn”t created just to trick the eyes.
The art installation in Japan represented two different tragedies…
One is the recent tsunami that devastated the Sendai region.
The other is the meltdown of the Fukushima Nuclear Power Plant.
His piece “brings the impact of the disaster back to human proportions; the understandable human proportions of the dimension of a swimming pool.”
