Arizona Fires Level House… But a Wedding Ring Survives
Larry and Patti McCracken lost their home in the deadly Arizona wildfires that claimed the lives of 19 firefighters and the homes of many others. They were out of town when the fires struck, so when the town was evacuated, they were unable to save photographs and valuables in their home.
They even lost Patti”s wedding ring; she was unable to wear it because it no longer fit, but she still kept it at the house. One of their daughter”s refused to give up the search to find it, so she spent hours sifting through rubble until miraculously stumbling across.
Larry and Patti experienced a small miracle amongst all of the tragedy in Yarnell, AZ.
Although their dream retirement home was burned down in the raging wildfire, they were able to find something precious to them.
They lost heirlooms, keepsakes and photographs…
But one of their daughters miraculously found Patti”s wedding ring under feet of burned debris.
She found the ring when her parents were away from the site, so when they came back she kept it a secret. She pulled her dad aside and said he should be the one to give it back to his wife.
So, Larry popped the question… a second time.
Larry and Patti will move on, rebuild and recover, just like many of the brave souls fighting through tragedy during the aftermath of the deadly fires.
